It has been confirmed by Volvo Car South Africa that the XC40 Recharge will be launching in SA this year. The Volvo XC40 is the first fully electric vehicle with a supreme driving experience and a heated steering wheel.
This is the first all-electric vehicle from Volvo, so it comes as no surprise that they chose the small family vehicle to tempt buyers that may have been interested in the Tesla Model Y or the more expensive offerings like the Audi E-Tron.
Volvo Car South Africa are determined to meet the needs and wants of their customers and are excited for 2021. Managing director of Volvo Car South Africa, Greg Maruszewski confirmed that the new XC40 is definitely on the cards for SA. He also went on to say that the plug-in hybrid range from Volvo is experiencing growth within the South African market.
The Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 was revealed in October 2019 and features an all-wheel electric drive with a claimed range of 400km with an output of 300kW. It is claimed that it can from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 180km/h.
The Volvo XC40Recharge is bold that takes on those traditional luxury vehicles in terms of price, but hasn’t sacrificed power.
