An Ordinary Pre-Owned Car

A pre-owned vehicle is just a used vehicle.

A used car would have had a least one previous owner. Depending on factors like the condition, mileage, make etc. used cars will vary in price.

The overall condition is a vital consideration for a used car buyer. A used car that has been maintained properly could still last for a long time with only minor issues.

Depending on its age, a used car could have a warranty still, which is a huge bonus.

What About Certified Pre-Owned Cars

A certified pre-owned car is still a used car, but it has been factory certified. You can usually buy this type of car from a dealership.

A certified pre-owned car has low mileage, is accident-free and hasn’t be used much. Certified pre-owned cars will have a warranty, which is a big benefit. They are also extremely reliable and are in a like-new condition.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of a Used Cars

What are the Advantages of a Used Car?

A used car will be cheaper than a certified pre-owned car, even when it is of the same year, make and model. This makes used cars a good option for those that are on a budget. With your budget in mind, you could even find a better spec used car or a more expensive model.

With used cars, you have plenty of choices with various models, makes and trim levels to choose from. It is possible to find a used car in a good condition, with good mileage for a great price.

Disadvantages of a Pre-Owned Car

When buying a used car, you need to know the risks. You can’t always be certain about what you are getting. A used car can look like it is in fantastic condition, but this appearance could be hiding something. If you are considering a used car then it is worth having a mechanic give it the once over as they will be able to tell what is lurking beneath the clean exterior.

If you find the perfect used car, but it doesn’t have a warranty then you will pay for repairs.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of a Certified Pre-Owned Car

Advantages of a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle

The main advantage of a certified pre-owned car is that it will come with a warranty from the manufacturer. With this, repairs are covered and done at the dealership.

Another great advantage is that these cars aren’t very old and carry low mileage so you can drive one for years without any issues.

The Disadvantages of a Certified Pre-Owned Car

The main drawback of certified pre-owned cars is the price as they are more expensive than used cars. The price tag though does give reassurance that the car is in the best condition and you won’t need to worry about repairs.

You will be limited in terms of choice as certified pre-owned cars will need to meet specific criteria.

Deciding which car to buy can be tough, but it’s best to weigh up all your options and choose the one that is affordable, in good condition and will last you for years to come.
